DIAGNOSTIC CARTRIDGE

While there are in fact a couple of diagnostic cartridges available for the NEOGEO, these were homemade aftermarket creations. However, for several years it was speculated that perhaps one of the unidentified missing NGM numbers could have possibly been an internal SNK cartridge used for diagnosing and testing NEOGEO systems and consoles.

DIAGNOSTIC CARTRIDGE OPTIONS

Anyone can build themselves a "diagnostic cartridge" by simply downloading the file and populating the M1 rom on any MVS or HOME cart with the proper eprom programmed with the rom data.

Also available is a complete cart known as the "240p test suite" which can be purchased or downloaded/assembled. These test carts have been made available for many other game systems as well.

Just as it has been discovered that SNK had their own professional and internal DEBUG bios chips and MVS converters, it is highly likely that they also had their own internal diagnostic/test cartridges.
